US to give $ 29 million to India |
To compensate for the deteriorating economy due to Corona virus, America will provide financial help to 64 countries including India. At the same time, the US will also complete the supply of ventilators in its friendly countries.
New Delhi: On Friday, the US announced an additional $ 174 million financial aid to 64 countries, including India, to help combat the corona virus global epidemic. Out of this amount, 29 lakh dollars will be given to India as help. This is in addition to the $ 100 million announced by the US in February.
The newly announced amount is currently part of a larger US global response package from various departments and agencies, including the Center of Disease Control (CDC). This financial support is for the 64 highest-risk countries facing the threat of a global pandemic.
The US State Department said that it is providing $ 2.9 million to the Indian government for the purpose of helping to set up labs, make case-finding and incident-based surveillance active and assist technical experts for preparation.
According to Bonnie Glick, deputy administrator of the American International Development Agency (USAID), this new aid will further strengthen America's global health leadership. In addition to the announcement of financial support, the US is also ready to supply the need for ventilators of its friendly countries.
President Trump said that after a large number of people were infected with the corona virus, the US has increased production of ventilators and other medical devices and their administration will distribute them to other countries as well.
